... spend time in His courts ...

Dear God,

... while in China I was listening to what you were saying to me ... from every angle I was hearing you say ...

- I am listening - Are you still praying -

I now know that the coming year will be a year of prayer.  Being prayerful in everything I do.

"When Moses went into the Tent, the pillar of cloud would always come down and stay at the entrance of the Tent while the Lord spoke with Moses. Whenever the people saw the pillar of cloud at the entrance of the Tent, they stood and worshiped, each person at the entrance of his own tent."
Exodus 33 : 9 - 10

... don't get stuck ...

Dear God,

thanks for reminding me how important it is to not get stuck  ... stuck in a frozen cold heart ... stuck in indifference ... I don't want to be the sad old grumpy lady ... help me to always be open and available ... help me to be the person who takes the time to listen ... help me to be the person that says YES ...

... cant live without you and your Love ...

... only for a while ...

Dear God,

How could it be possible that after years of reading my bible ... at church this Sunday I heard this verse for the first time ... or maybe my ears and understanding finally let me hear it.  Thank you for sharing this revelation at church ... you are the best.

Sometimes when we do the right thing but feel bad because people react in a way that is uncomfortable ... it is good to remember that this will pass ... the uncomfortable will fade and the time will show a a new way forward.

 I know I distressed you greatly with my letter. Although I felt awful at the time, I don't feel at all bad now that I see how it turned out. The letter upset you, but only for a while. Now I'm glad—not that you were upset, but that you were jarred into turning things around. You let the distress bring you to God, not drive you from him. The result was all gain, no loss.

Distress that drives us to God does that. It turns us around. It gets us back in the way of salvation. We never regret that kind of pain. But those who let distress drive them away from God are full of regrets, end up on a deathbed of regrets.

And now, isn't it wonderful all the ways in which this distress has goaded you closer to God? You're more alive, more concerned, more sensitive, more reverent, more human, more passionate, more responsible. Looked at from any angle, you've come out of this with purity of heart. And that is what I was hoping for in the first place when I wrote the letter. My primary concern was not for the one who did the wrong or even the one wronged, but for you—that you would realize and act upon the deep, deep ties between us before God. That's what happened—and we felt just great.

... words that awaken memories ...

Dear God,

As you know I take a long time to read a book ... but one thing I do love, is savoring the words ...

Especially when they are words that awaken memories of my past or words that set a picture in my mind.

I am reading The Help by Kathryn Stockett ... and love this paragraph ...

"I push open the metal door, get a cart, and put Mae Mobley up front, stick her legs through the holes. Long as I got my white uniform on, I'm  allowed to shop in this Jitney.  I miss the old days, when when you just walk out to Fortification Street and there be the farmers with they wheelbarrows calling out, "Sweet potatoes, butter beans, string beans, okra.  Fresh cream, buttermilk, yellow cheese and eggs."  But the Jitney ain't so bad.  Least they got the good air-conditioning."

there is something about a supermarket ... no matter which country or which decade we live ...

... the urge for old ways to return ... the idea of locally grown vegetables ... grown by people you know ... and community ...

... blog review HOPE 103.2 ...

Dear God,

... as you know I had my blog reviewed on the radio last week ... below is a podcast link where you can listen to the review ...

it was exciting to hear that someone can read my blog and totally get what I am about ... what I think is a big jumbled mess (my conversations) was so clearly interpreted by someone ... they totally got my intention and heart for you ...

... I just want the world to love you , like I love you ...

... my dream would be for more God Blogs all over the world ... to start a revolution of God Blogs ...

Lord, you have examined me and you know me.
  You know everything I do;
      from far away you understand all my thoughts.
 You see me, whether I am working or resting;
      you know all my actions.
 Even before I speak,
      you already know what I will say.
 You are all around me on every side;
      you protect me with your power.
 Your knowledge of me is too deep;
      it is beyond my understanding.
